Top UK Powdered Energy Drinks (2025) I Tried Them All So You Don’t Have To

Join me on my journey to conquer all of the powdered energy drink companies on the market and give you an HONEST review of each of them! Let me be very clear… This is not a sales pitch in any way shape or form and I am not being paid to lie about my reviews on this page by any company. There are however some affiliate links, if you wish to visit them. They give me rewards to try new flavours from their company, allowing me to expand the reviews further!

Taste is completely subjective, but this quest is seen through my eyes and tastebuds, so there may be some that you disagree with below, but that’s okay, let me know your thoughts!

I’m honestly blown away that over 7,700 people have found this page useful for honest advice on powdered energy drinks. If you’re one of them, thank you. I read every message and comment, and I appreciate each and every one of you!

Why did you create this page?

If you know me personally, you know just how addicted to energy drinks I am! I wanted to get out of the habit of traditional energy drinks as I’ve struggled with high blood pressure that I’ve linked to energy drink consumption (since quitting, I’m at a healthy level again for the first time in 4 years). I had tried powdered energy drinks before when they were in their infancy (they were horrible), but now that the market has been established, I thought I would try out all the flavours from every company to see how I like them.

There are so many ‘influencers’ out there who are paid to say these brands are great, when that just isn’t the case. So this page is BS-free and will never bow down to money in exchange for reviews (I’ve been offered cash from 3 companies to give shining reviews of their products and I’ve turned all of them down!)

Hopefully, it will give you insight into what brand might suit you, if you want to make the switch.

If you are thinking about switching from traditional energy drinks to powder, my complete beginner’s guide is perfect for you! It contains all of my experience as a newbie, all in one place! You can have a read here.

I also done a test to see which of the brands was best for gaming. If that sounds like something you would be interested in, you can check it out here.

Well, what is the best powdered energy drink brand?

Why are they your favourite?

  • You are supporting a small UK company that is better than the big corporate companies
  • Their formula is the smoothest and they are constantly making tweaks to make it better (new formula came out in 2025)
  • They have a LOAD of flavours
  • It tastes great
  • Their brand design is cool (Yeah, that matters to me)

What do you drink right now?

At present, I have a load of tubs from a load of different brands, but I chop and change almost exclusively between Wraith flavours at the moment (Sometimes with Sneak thrown in)

My go-to at the moment is:
Blood Red Lemonade – Terrifier 3 (Wraith)

If you are wondering what the best shaker to use is, I’ve started a similar guide that you can read here.

Overall Brand Reviews

The aim of this section is to give the company an overall rating based on how I have perceived their brand. I’m a sucker for marketing, so I will have this as a mark but most importantly the taste will be the overall decider! I’ve chosen specific ranking factors based on things that I would need to make a decision on a brand. If there is something missing here that you think I should include, please let me know!

Wraith Energy

Wraith Energy was my gateway back into powdered energy drinks, basically because I liked their marketing. I’m happy to say that the experience with Wraith products prompted this page to be created!

IMPORTANT! – 2025 will be a massive year for Wraith as they have a brand new formula for their drinks that makes them even better than before. The tastes are the same, but they are a lot smoother! I have started updating the reviews with new scoring, if applicable (I’ll add 2025 next to them)

Taste: 9.5/10Wraith Energy has quite a powerful flavour compared to some other brands. If you are used to traditional energy drinks like I was, this made the transition to powdered energy drinks much easier.
Effectiveness: 8/10200mg Caffeine per serving – I didn’t feel the instant buzz that I usually would with a traditional energy drink, but certainly gained a boost, with no comedown.
Price: 8.5/10£1.99 for a sample. 0.75p per serving if buying a tub.
Grittiness: 10/10 I have tried their new formula and I am so pleased to say that there is now NO grit or chalkiness! This upgrade has brought Wraith back into the titans, fighting for first place!
Range of Flavours: 9/10Over 20 flavours to try!
Marketing: 9.5/10 I love the dark fantasy-inspired marketing of Wraith!

DragonFruit & Mandarin (2025)9.5/10I wasn’t too sure what to expect with this one, but it was an absolute top notch flavour. Feels really fruity, but with a candy aftertaste that really hits the spot! Nice work on this one. This is probably the only one that scored less with the new formula (was slightly less sweet than I remembered)
Emerald Abyss (2025)9.5/10I’ve wanted to try this one for a while now! The flavour is hard to put your finger on (and Wraith keep it a secret!). For me it is close to a Limeade and tastes really similar to Sneak’s Stealth. the 2025 new flavour takes this up a notch to one of their best!
Slayer Mango8.5/10Awesome candy mango flavour. This was the first flavour I tried as I loved Mango Loco Monster energy drinks. I was not disappointed!
Formango (2025)9.5/10Just when I thought Slayer Mango was great, Formango showed up and blew me out the water. I think this might be the closest I’ve found to Mango Loco!
Cult Cola (2025)8/10Really nice tangy cola flavour here. Strong taste (in a good way), doesn’t feel watered down at all, unlike some other brands.
Terrifier 3: Raspberry & Blueberry Lemonade8.5/10Not an overly unique flavour by any means, but gets the job done. Main flavour is the raspberry for me, with a hint of blueberry in the background. Easy to go down and doesn’t have a bad aftertaste.
Cherry & Lime7.5/10Sweet candy flavour. I can’t put my finger on what it reminds me of, but it is a sweet of some kind! Also has a bit of an aftertaste of Strawberry and Lime cider.
Wraith have announced that they have discontinued this flavour, folks!
Terrifier 3: Miles County Cotton Candy (2025)7.5/10I’m not a massive fan of candy floss flavoured drinks (hence the score), but if you are a fan, there isn’t anyone that does the taste better than Wraith. The rest taste burnt and have a horrible aftertaste. (this is the same flavour as Cult Candy, just rebranded)
BAYSIDE BLAST9/10Nice fruity flavour. Hard to put your finger on the taste, but feels quite sherbert-y.
Blueberry Lemonade9/10Really refreshing!
Voodoo Grape (2025)9/10I’m a sucker for the typical American-style grape flavour and this was no exception. One of my favourites from this brand. The new formula makes this even better than it was before.
Blood Red Lemonade (Terrifier 3)9/10I absolutely love this collab! It fits so well with the dark fantasy theme of the company! The taste is really pleasant, easy to drink with loads of flavour.
Wraith Black Edition (2025)9.5/10This one reminds me of Ribena! The new formula makes this one even better!
Battlegum (2025)9/10Bubblegum flavours can be a hit or a miss. Thankfully, in this case, it was a complete hit! Exactly what you want from a bubblegum flavour and the new formula just adds to how smooth it is.
What the Duck (WTD)8/10Nice fruity flavour. Hard to put your finger on the taste, but has a sherbert flavour to it.
Gamer Bathwater8/10Hard to place the taste. Fruity and very pleasant.
Tropical Punch7/10I’m usually a massive fan of tropical, the only reason this was scored lower than expected was that the banana flavour is very overpowering. Still a very nice drink though!
Pear Drop7/10Really did taste like pear drops, done really well with this flavour. I’m not the biggest pear fan, but I enjoyed the sweetness!
Apple-calypse7/10Not too sharp of a taste, reminds me of apple diluting juice (Squash) a little, but with a candy taste. Was quite nice, but not my kind of flavour so will give it a miss next time!
Wraith Reborn7/10This flavour is basically Cherry Coke. Pleasant enough, but for me, I need the cola to be a bit more tangy. This one had a bit of a powdery aftertaste.
Vs Black (2025)8.5/10This is not what I expected! It was a really familiar flavour that reminded me of cherry and mixed fruit squash. This was a really pleasant flavour, but the new formula makes this flavour even better!
Son of a Beach (2025)6/10Really smooth and fruity drink, and I really like the design of the flavour. The only reason it scores low is that it isn’t a flavour I would go for myself (I got it to try it in the samples back)
Lizard People Limeade (2025)5/10I was a bit gutted with this one, if I’m honest. The design of this flavour is great and I am a big fan of limeade, but this just fell short of what I was hoping for. It wasn’t horrible, bit it just tasted like someone had squeezed a lime into a shaker of water. Was far too weak for my liking.
Vs Orange4/10Was disappointed with this one if I’m honest. I was hoping for a tangy sherbert orange flavour, but it feels more like they have just given me a serving of the orange sherbert from a Double Dip. So technically, it does what it says on the tin!
Watermelon Twist3/10I wasn’t going to review the Watermelon or Mojito flavours because I’m not a big fan of those flavours outside of the test, but it makes sense for anyone that had silimar tastes to me. This one was actually better than I thought it would be though. It tasted really juicy like a real fresh watermelon! If you like watermelon, this one is a no-brainer.
Mojito1/10Tastes identical to a mojito. I hate the taste of Mojitos! This was included in the sample pack, wasn’t one that I chose myself!
RGBERRY (2025)0/10If you are one of my regular readers, you will know that prior to 2025, this flavour was scored 0/10 because it was bitter and absolutely horrid… Fastforward to 2025 with the new formula and it is now a 8/10! The new taste is excellent. I think it tastes similar to Black Edition, but more ‘berry’.
Nitro Orange (2025)8.5/10Really pleasant orange drink. I was expecting it to be a bit too extreme (because of its name), but it wasn’t!
Cosmo (2025)7.5/10This was a nice flavour, but I felt like it was really powdery-despite it being the new formula.

Holy

Since I had tried and liked a lot of the Wraith flavours, next to pop up on the social media advertisements was HOLY. Although I’m not a fan of their name, the artwork for the flavours look great and it boasts that their product is a healthier alternative. I personally wasn’t able to get behind the aftertaste that this brand left in my mouth after every sip, so unfortunately it didn’t score very well. I will say that they Customer Service was fantastic though. I tried all of the flavours from my sample pack and they still offered me a refund because I didn’t like it. Top mark on that front! Click here to view their website

Taste: 4/10Holy certainly tastes ‘healthy’, not something that I would personally be looking for when finding an energy drink alternative. There is a strange background taste to most of the drinks that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Effectiveness: 7.5/10160mg Caffeine per serving – I didn’t feel the instant buzz that I usually would with a traditional energy drink, but certainly gained a boost, with no comedown.
Price: 7.5/10£1.43 for a sample. 0.80p per serving if buying a tub.
Grittiness: 9/10 Almost no grit from any of the flavours that I tried!
Range of Flavours: 6/107 flavours of Holy Energy available
Marketing: 7/10 The artwork on the sachets/tubs is really cool. Not a fan of their brand logo though. It feels too minimalistic compared to the theme of the flavour artwork.

GORILLA’S GRAPE2/10I must admit, I’m pretty gutted about the grape flavour. I’m usually a big fan, but this one wasn’t for me. Quite bitter.
STRAWBERRY SHARK5/10Not too bad, but in comparison to the Strawberry and Lime from Wraith, it falls short, unfortunately. The drink has an unpleasant tinge that I can’t put my finger on, but can power through.
CITRUS COBRA5/10Not really what I was hoping for, but one of the better flavours from this company.
Cactus Camel1/10Pomegranate Piranha
Pomegranate Piranna5/10This is the best tasting drink that I’ve tried from Holy, but honestly… It was a bit of a chore to drink.

Sneak

Sneak was the first powdered energy drink that I tasted when the company was just launched and I have to say, I wasn’t a fan at all… I’m not sure if the formula has changed or the concept was too new compared to the sugary energy drinks back then, but this brand has completely changed these days in my eyes.

Also worth a note is that they do a ‘hydrate’ version of a lot of their powders that have no caffeine. This might not be relevant to you, but if you are trying to kick caffeine, this may be your lifeline.

Sneak also do ‘shakes’ that are intended to be made with milk to give you a milkshake.

Taste: 9/10I was blown away at how great this brand tasted! There is a reason that Sneak is so popular!
Effectiveness: 7.5/10150mg Caffeine per serving – I didn’t feel the instant buzz that I usually would with a traditional energy drink, but certainly gained a boost, with no comedown.
Price: 8/10£2.00 for a sample. £1.00 per serving if buying 400g tub. The thing I would add here is that a serving with sneak is 300ml of water. I would recommend doubling the amount of water for the best taste and doubling the amount to drink!
Grittiness: 10/10 From the flavours that I’ve tried, i’ve not had any chalky or gritty feeling or tastes, top marks!
Range of Flavours: 10/10Loads of flavours to try, with limited edition drops happening every few months.
Marketing: 9.5/10 They have a recognisable logo that most people can identify and the shakers have a good range in cool colours.

Electric Mango8/10Tastes the closest to Monster’s Mango Loco that I’ve found, which is a massive upside for me!
Neon Punch8/10The smell of this one is completely different to how it tastes! This one tastes like sweets to me. My wife tried this flavour and described it as the chewy centre of the Frosties sweets (for those of you old enough to remember those sweets!)
Mountain Juice (Limited Edition)8.5/10This is literally my ideal energy drink. It’s a Mountain Dew Dupe with a limeade theme to it. Since I’ve heard people say that it tastes like Twister ice lollies, I can’t get that out of my head though! It tastes great, not gritty and is bright green, what’s not to love!? After having a lot of this one, it does get quite sickly however, this is reflected in the score!
Original1/10This is Rhubarb and Custard flavour. I managed to force down a couple of gulps but had to pour the rest away, unfortunately. Just wasn’t for me.
Breakfast Orange8.5/10This is an interesting one, they really nailed the orange juice flavour and it is really smooth! The only downside is that I’m not sure I would commit to a full tub as it doesn’t satisfy my need for a ‘This is an energy drink’ flavour!
Cherry Bomb8.5/10This is a great tangy cherry flavour. The packaging had me thinking this would be a cherry coke taste, but it wasn’t!
Raspberry Lemonade8.5/10Not too overpowering like some Raspberry drinks. This was very easy to drink!
Cola9/10Sometimes cola flavour is a hit and a miss. Although it is a common flavour, some companies still get it wrong. Sneak however, did not get it wrong. This tangy cola is fantastic!
Raspberry Creamsicle Shake5/10Unfortunately, this one was just too sickly for me. I added in a lot more than the recommended amount of milk, but it didn’t help (and I have a very sweet tooth).
Grape Crush (USA)9/10I am a massive grape fan! (USA Grape) This taste is just what the doctor ordered and is my favourite flavour so far from any company!
Stealth6/10Some people claim that this is the closest to Monster Energy flavour, but I don’t agree. I was a monster energy addict and I just wasn’t a massive fan of Stealth! It isn’t too unpleasant, but there are much better flavours available.
Untitled8/10This flavour was an Elite exclusive (but now available in their normal shop). Flavour-wise, it is a really smooth berry flavour (I think raspberry).
GOAT Apple & Cherry9/10The flavour of this one took me by surprise. Both the apple and cherry complement each other very well. Sweet and bitter at the same time. Excellent work on this one.
GOAT Raspberry Lemonade8.5/10The Raspberry flavour is the most dominant here, with a subtle lemonade aftertaste that complements it really well. Coming in second place compared to the apple & cherry, but there isn’t much in it!
Hair of the Dog10/10I was really looking forward to this one and it lived up to my expectations! A really smooth drink with the perfect balance of mango and peach. Full marks all day long!
High Voltage – Sour Gummy6/10Technically it does taste like cheap gummy worms, but unfortunately, the aftertaste is also that not so pleasant taste that you get with cheap gummies! Just not for me.
Unreleased (UK Version)10/10Sneak doesn’t tell you what flavour this is, but I was blown away with how great it tastes! The only way I can describe it is if you blended Irn Bru, a Refresher bar and Loveheart sweets together, you would get this flavour! Top marks!
Unreleased (US Version)9/10This one is nearly identical to the UK version. The only difference that I can tell is that it seems to have a bit of a strange aftertaste. If it wasn’t for the aftertaste, it would be full marks.
Ultra Blxxk (UK Version)9/10Really different from Sneak’s other flavours this one. This is a really fruity pineapple and grapefruit drink that tastes really authentic. The flavours are really strong though, so can be a bit hard to drink a lot of it.
Ultra Blxxk (US Version)9/10This tastes completely different from the UK version! The US version is the same underlying themes of pineapple and grapefruit, but done with a sweet candy flavour profile.
Strawberry Gummy (Superheroes)5/10I was really looking forward to this one. I do love myself strawberry, but this just didn’t hit the spot. The aftertaste isn’t very nice. I wouldn’t describe the drink as horrible, but I certainly wouldn’t take another serving.
Candy Floss (Carnival)3/10I was conflicted when I tried it. The initial hit is nice and sweet, but it quickly turns to what I can only describe as a horrible burnt taste. I tried my best but only got 1/4 through the serving. The after aftertaste (when it’s been there for a few minutes) does really taste like candy floss though… Too bad the main taste is so unpleasant.
Passion Fruit8/10This one is really easy to drink and tastes really nice. My wife said that this was the best flavour she has tried. I am actually a big fan of this one, but It lost a couple of points because it wasn’t exciting enough. This would be a good choice to have as an every day drink, when you’re not feeling something too much.
AB Negative Strawberry & Kiwi6/10The Strawberry is very subtle. It is the kiwi that comes through the strongest. With that said, the aftertaste just isn’t great. 6 is being quite kind.
Lagoon Water Blueberry Lemonade6/10Small hit of blueberry at the start, with the aftertaste of lemonade. Unfortunately, this one just lacked that bit of something special. It wasn’t bad, but not something that I would rush to try again.
Pixel Punch8.5/10Really fruity with a slight candy flavour. This would be a much higher score if it wasn’t for the aftertaste. Only way I can describe the aftertaste is that its like eating a candy cane.
Bitberry Limeade1/10I had high hopes for this one, but it just instantly reminded me of washing up liquid. Don’t ask me how I know what that tastes like, but here we are. I couldn’t finish a serving, unfortunately.
Pear Drops6/10This isn’t a horrible flavour, but it was just too subtle and didn’t really give off a ‘candy’ flavour for me.
Refresh’r6/10I was really looking forward to this one, but the flavour was just underwhelming and didn’t taste like a Refresher bar to me, unfortunately. Easy to drink and not a horrible flavour though, just disappointing.
Strawberry Millions10/10This is easily the best flavour that Sneak has ever made and will probably ever make! I really hope that they just rebrand this one day (as they won’t have the licence to call it Millions anymore)
Yuzu Mandarin6/10This one really does taste like mandarin (Mandarin isn’t a traditional orange flavour). With that being said, it wasn’t really up there with something I would rush to try again.

£1.33 for a sample. 0.72p with a tub (shipping is from the States though so works out at about £8.75)

Taste: 9/10Really smooth and pleasant taste. On par with Sneak in my opinion.
Effectiveness: 7.5/10140mg Caffeine per serving – I didn’t feel the instant buzz that I usually would with a traditional energy drink, but certainly gained a boost, with no comedown.
Price: 9/10£1.33 for a sample. 0.72p with a tub (shipping is from the States though so works out at about £8.75)
Grittiness: 10/10 I didn’t tase any grittiness or chalky textures at all!
Range of Flavours: 10/10Over 50 flavours to try!
Marketing: 10/10 Video game and pop culture licensed flavours. Can’t get any better than that!
NameRatingComment
Bahama Mama8/10Coconut, pineapple and orange flavoured drink that isn’t too overpowering. I’m not usually a massive fan of coconut in drinks, but this was an acceptable level
Ragin Gummy Fish9/10Really nice candy flavour. Really smooth and pleasant. Only downside is that it is a little weak, so I would recommend reducing the amount of water you use for this one.
Battle Juice8/10Pleasant Pineapple flavour without the artificial taste!
Blue Chug Rug9.5/10Great sour taste and really smooth. I spent some time trying to score this one because I could see myself buying a tub of this, no problem!
PewDiePie7.5/10Sour cherry flavour, but not too strong. Pleasant taste, but not really too much to write home about.
Snow Cone7/10Does taste quite like a snow cone, but it has a bit of a funny aftertaste at times. Wouldn’t turn it down, but probably wouldn’t buy a tub.
Pomelo White Peach8.5Really fruity taste with no grit! This one is Naruto themed.
Rainbow Sherbet4/10Bit chalky and really bland, not much taste to it at all unfortunately
Black on Blackberry6/10Not unpleasant, but really just tastes like squash (or Diluting Juice as I call it!)

Gamersupps GG

This brand came to my attention because they were offering free samples as long as you paid for postage. Unfortunately, it was being shipped from the USA, but it was a great deal to try out some of the company’s flavours. You can visit their website here.

Taste: 8/10These are really taste, but will be subjective to your palate. They were a little too strange for my personal tastes, when considering it is an energy drink.
Effectiveness: 6.5/10100mg of caffeine per serving. Had to have a couple of servings to feel the effects.
Price: 10/10 £1.12 per sample (Just pay shipping) or £0.47 per serving when buying a tub – £47.15 for a tub, including shipping (importing from USA)
Grittiness: 10/10 There was no chalkiness or grit at all from the samples that I tried. Top marks!
Range of Flavours: 9/10There are a load of flavours (30+) available through their website and are still growing the range
Marketing: 1/10 Each to their own, but I wouldn’t be caught in public sporting anything from this brand… Basically sexualised animie girls everywhere… I wouldn’t mind a plain tub from them, but forget any merch!
NameRatingComment
Blo’hole Blast6.5/10This is one of those instances where you can tell that this is a really great and well put together taste… for the right person. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark with me though as the coconut was too overpowering for me.
Clyde’s Black Cherry7/10I’m usually a fan of black cherry, but it was a little weak for my tastes(not by dilution). Still a solid 7 though.

Body Fuel

You may be familiar with this brand as bottles of flavoured water with some flavours such as drumsticks, but if you have tasted the bottles, you will know that it has an unfortunate watered-down taste to it. I thought I would try their powdered energy drink to see how it compares!

Taste: 4/10Unfortunately, even with double servings, it tastes like the watered down flavours that you find in their flavoured water.
Effectiveness: 6.5/10100mg of caffeine per serving. Had to have a couple of servings to feel the effects.
Price: 10/10£0.28 per serving when buying a tub – £8.49 for a tub from B&M. This is ideal for someone who is looking for a very cheap energy drink!
Grittiness: 10/10 There was no chalkiness or grit at all. Top marks!
Range of Flavours: 4/10There are not a lot of flavours available at the time of writing this (I could only find 4).
Marketing: 4/10 The tubs have bright colours, but the brand just looks like a cheap discount store’s own brand, unfortunately. Not something you would show off or be encouraged to continue buying for the sake of the brand.
NameRatingComment
Millions Cola (Ultimate Amino’s)4/10Unfortunately, this powder tasted very watered down, even with a double serving. It tastes exactly like their flavoured water. it is hard to explain… The initial hit on your tongue does give you a zing, but it fades very quickly to being bland… very odd.

Glytch Energy

If you are like me, marketing makes a big impact on your buying decisions (at least we are self-aware!). Glytch has some of the funniest drink names, and that made me love them before I even tried any of their stuff! Let’s dive in and see how we got on with their drinks!

Check out their website here! – Glytch Energy Discount Code – ‘GEEKYGOREVAN‘ at checkout (10% off)!

Taste: 9.5/10This formula was unlike anything else I have seen. It seems to instantly dissolve when it hits the water. It was hard to explain! There was no chalkiness or grit at all. Top marks!
Effectiveness: 8.5/10225mg of caffeine per serving!
Price: 6/10£1.73 for a sample or £1.31 per serving when buying a tub – £27.54 for a tub of 30 servings. (Shipping is £11.81 to the UK)
Grittiness: 10/10 This formula was unline anything else I have seen. It seems to instantly dissolve when it hits the water. It was hard to explain! There was no chalkiness or grit at all. Top marks!
Range of Flavours: 8/10There are a lot of cool flavours available in tubs and sample packs. Enough to keep you going!
Marketing: 10/10 The logo is cool, a glitching fox that gives off a gamer feel, but where this company shines is their flavour names. Names like Karen Tears, Skill Issue and Smurf Juice to name a few
NameRatingComment
Maui Punch9/10So, this was my first drink from Glytch. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but the Maui Punch looked like a tropical/mango-y flavour, so go with something I know I will like… Absolutely blown away with this! Tangy/Slightly sour tropical taste that reminds me of traditional tropical energy drinks. Excellent!
Nerdies10/10In comes the underdog with another unreal flavour! Nerdies is a mix between American Grape and Strawberry candy… I love American grape flavours at the best of times, but I wasn’t expecting this to be as great as it was!
Smurf Juice10/10Blue raspberry gummy flavour. If you love your bright blue colours and flavours (like me), then this is perfect!
Limit Test10/10For me, mixed berry energy powder can be a hit or a miss (look at Wraith’s RGBERRY!), so I wasn’t holding out too much hope for this one. Well… I was completely wrong. Another unreal flavour that is perfect!
Foxy Lemonade8/10Glytch’s pink lemonade flavour is really pleasant, and not overly bitter. The only reason it didn’t score as high as the others is personal preference. Lemonade isn’t my go-to when having an energy drink.
Karen Tears8/10I was really happy to see that Karen Tears was a grape flavour. If you have read most of these reviews, you can tell that I’m a MASSIVE fan of American grape! This only lost points because it is a little too sour for my taste!
Skill Issue8.5/10The flavour is described on the tub as ‘Bomber Popiscle’ (Spelled that way), and that is exactly what it tastes like, ice lolly flavour with hints of cherry, lime and blue raspberry!
Drink Me Potion8.5/10Branded as ‘Strawberry Snowcone,’ this flavour is a sweet, candied strawberry taste with an Alice in Wonderland theme!
Loopy Fruits1/10Every brand has one that I just can’t drink, and Loopy Fruits is the one. This one is completely down to my personal preferences, I just can’t stand the taste of fruit loops. What I will say though, if you like Fruit Loops, this flavour absolutely nails it. It tasted like I was drinking the froot loops milk from a cereal bowl! Was a cool sensation, too bad it wasn’t for me!
Greenades8/10This apple flavour wasn’t quite what I was expecting! I expected a sweet candy flavour that was similar to the other flavours that they have done, but this one was really smooth and refreshing!
MNK Mango4/10This is the flavour that I was really, really looking forward to. As you probably know, I was obsessed by the Mango Loco flavoured monster, so always try mango flavours to compare. This wasn’t sweet at all, it is quite weak and not an overly pleasant taste. Gutted!

Thank you to one of our readers (Sam) for reaching out to us asking about Rogue Energy, I ordered some samples to let you know how they were (they sent even more than I ordered!). Rogue also have ‘Hydration’ and ‘Chill’ variants, rather than just Energy, if that tickles your fancy!

Check out their website here – I don’t have a discount code yet, but working on it!

Taste: 3/10Not too bad when it comes to taste, there are a lot better and a lot worse out there. The main thing that I feel lets them down is the aftertaste.
Effectiveness: 7.5/10150mg of caffeine per serving. Similar to big brands like Sneak.
Price: 5/10£2.04 for a sample (using their ‘free’ sample option) or £1.27 per serving If buying a tub with 30 servings.
Grittiness: 8/10 I didn’t notice any grit with most of them, but the grape popsicle was extremely chalky.
Range of Flavours: 8/1016 flavours are available on their website for the energy formula, which is pretty decent!
Marketing: 6/10 Not as flat as some of the other brands out there, but nothing recognisable that would cause too much of a buzz.

Dragon Fruit Mango (Hydration)7/10Really smooth and easy to go down, doesn’t have any overpowering flavours, just a nice amount, without it tasting too much like an energy drink.
Strawberry Hibiscus (Chill)10/10This was really nice! It is the opposite of what we are reviewing here, but the taste was so pleasant that It needed a high score! It’s strange but it tastes chill! My wife describes it as a melted strawberry ice lolly (which I can taste too), it’s a really subtle taste and not overpowering in the slightest. Excellent.
Blood Orange6/10Really citrusy smell (reminds me of a car air freshener!), but the tangy juicy taste is great. The only downside is the aftertaste. It didn’t sit too well with me, unfortunately.
Grape Popsicle1/10I’m a big grape guy, but this just left me screwing my face up with the horrible aftertaste. Sorry guys, this is a no-go for me.
Black Cherry2/10Another of my usual go-to flavours, but the aftertaste again was really unpleasant on this one. Not as bad as the Grape, but not too far off.
Tiger’s Blood5/10I’m not a big fan of watermelon, but this is actually quite pleasant, especially compared to their grape and black cherry. I would score it higher, but as it is watermelon, it’s not something that I would willingly try.
Blue Raspberry6.5/10Not the best blue raspberry out there, but nothing to write home about unfortunately.
Pink Lemonade1/10Tastes like traditional pink lemonade. It still has that terrible aftertaste though, so need to mark it as a 1. Couldn’t finish it.
Sour Candy2/10Tastes like sour gummy worms at first, which was really pleasant. The horrible aftertaste was just horrible again though, so couldn’t finish it.
Rocket Pop8/10Really nice flavour on this one! It’s quite like a classic ice lolly, but my wife thinks it tastes like blue Jolly Ranchers.

X-Zero Energy

I stumbled upon X-Zero by X-Gamer from a social media ad. This company is pretty new to the UK (they are based in Sweden).

The thing that stood out for me was the design of their Horus flavour. I love Egyptian mythology, so I just had to try it! Thankfully, they did have sample pack available that I could buy to give you all a good review of a range of flavours!

I must admit that I do have a problem with this company for their marketing techniques and lack of transparency. There are a couple of gripes that I have noticed that I will outline below. They have attempted to address the below, but in doing so they have tried something else sneaky (pun intended), so I just can’t trust a company that does this.

Servings – They have on their website and in adverts that one standard shaker is two servings. This doesn’t sound that bad, but what they are actually doing here is tricking you into believing that their product is cheaper than it is… by advertising a per serving cost that is half of what it should be! The price they offer is already decent… why try to scam people?

Postage – The price for postage is a bit excessive. It was one of the most commented things I saw when looking up their company on social… For the sample pack, they charged £4.99 postage, but when responding to customers who questioned it, they said it was the best available to them at the present time.
I weighed the package that came through and can confirm that it would cost £2.70 to be sent tracked through Royal Mail (or £1.55 not tracked). It’s a small thing, but it doesn’t show confidence that they have their consumers in mind. UPDATE March 2025 – They have now changed their approach and are giving free postage on their samples, however, they have upped the price to give the perception of free postage (although it is cheaper overall now).

Social Media Ads – The facebook ads that this company put out insist on attacking other brands, rather than showing why their product is good. They have had ads that mock Sneak Energy and say that their product is inferior… I however cannot trust a thing this company says, so would take what they say with a pinch of salt.

Check out their website here – I don’t have a discount code for you yet, but due to their poor practices and lack of transparency, I hope you opt for another option.

Taste: 8/10Some of their flavours are really great! There are many that just aren’t to my liking though, or their score would be higher!
Effectiveness: 8/10200mg of caffeine per serving (real serving, not their pretend serving). Similar to brands like Wraith.
Price: 8.5/10£1.55 for a sample or £0.80p per serving if buying a tub with 50 real servings.
Grittiness: 10/10 I didn’t notice any grit at all! Top marks!
Range of Flavours: 10/1032 flavours are available on their website for the energy formula. Loads to try!
Marketing: 7/10 Most of their designs are nothing to write home about, but there are a couple that look really cool. Their shakers are just their name, so wouldn’t be rated as highly as their competitors I’m afraid.

Blackberry8/10Beat my expectations, to be honest. Usually, blackberry flavours just remind me of squash, but this was sweeter!
Cola9/10Cola flavours can be a bit of a hit and miss, but they done a really good job on this one. Traditional tangy cola flavour.
Horus3/10This design was the main reason that I wanted to try the brand, but I was gutted when I tried it! The water was a cool blue colour, but the taste of mango and papaya just had an awful aftertaste. Really wanted to love it.
Pear & Lemon8/10I didn’t have high hopes for this one either, but I was really impressed. I can only describe it as if you put 1 pear drop and 2 sherbert lemons in your mouth at the same time. Good work on this one.
Blue Raspberry7/10Beat my expectations, to be honest. Usually, blackberry flavours just remind me of squash, but this was sweeter!
Cactus Lemon0/10This is absolutely vile. I nearly threw up with the first gulp. Zero points!
Wild Strawberry & Strawberry9/10Really nice candy-like Strawberry flavours from this one. Really refreshing!
Pomegranate9/10Not a flavour I would have went for myself, but I’m really glad it was included in the sample pack. It was a really sweet candy flavour. Great job.
Rhubarb & Apple7/10I’m surprised! I love rhubarb in a pie, but in a drink it gives me the boke. This drink however, seems to match it really nicely with apple to give a pleasant taste. I would give it a higher score, but it’s still not one I would pick up again.

Bucked Up

I had seen Bucked Up advertised on Facebook, but the postage was quite high, so I hadn’t bothered getting any samples before. Thankfully, they had a deal for 3 samples and a shaker for £7.98, so it was worth getting so that I could share the experience with you folks.

This is marketed as a pre-workout and contains 200mg of caffeine. The powder does seem quite ‘thick’. I’m not sure if that is by design though, so that it feels more hefty as a pre-workout.

Check out their website here – I don’t have a discount code for you yet, but I’m working on it!

Taste: 8.5/10From the three flavours that I’ve tried. I was really impressed with them. They might not have the biggest range of flavours, but it’s clear they put a lot of effort into making their flavours taste great.
Effectiveness: 8/10200mg of caffeine per serving. Similar to brands like Wraith.
Price: 7.5/10£2.38 for a sample (excluding shipping) or £1.00 per serving if buying a tub with 40 servings.
Grittiness: 10/10 I didn’t notice any grit at all! Top marks!
Range of Flavours: 4/10There were only a handful of flavours available when I checked their website (might be that there was a load out of stock)
Marketing: 5/10 They pretty much focus on fitness and USA themes.

Cherry Candy8.5/10This reminds me of Cherry drops sweets (if you can still get them). The cherry candy flavour isn’t too over the top, it was pretty much what you would expect. Very easy to go down.
Blood Raz9/10This one took my by surprise! I wasn’t expecting the Raspberry flavour to be so… realistic? It’s really juicy and sweet with a little tang at the end.
‘Merica Rocket Pop7.5/10This might be one of the better rocket pop flavours out there. I’m just not a massive fan of the rocket pop flavours on the market unfortunately! (I think it’s the aftertaste that gets me)

RagePhase

Ragephase seems to be a new company that popped up on my facebook feed offering a free sample (just pay postage). The brand is still in it’s infancy and it only has the one flavour at the moment, but it was worth a try.

Check out their website here – I don’t have a discount code for you yet, but I’m working on it!

Taste: 10/10They only have the one flavour just now, but it was a burst of flavour!
Effectiveness: 10/10190mg of caffeine per serving, but this is the first drink I’ve had that really gives me a near instant ‘boost’ of energy.
Price: 8/10I had a free sample through their promotion (pay for shipping), but if you buy their 40 serving tub, it works out at £0.99 per serving (including postage).
Grittiness: 5/10 I didn’t notice any grit at all… Until I reached the bottom and it was really gritty. This is a me problem though, because this is a pre-workout, you are probably meant to chug it.
Range of Flavours: 1/10There is only one flavour at the moment, but I will keep an eye on their website for updates on new flavours.
Marketing: 1/10 There isn’t really much available at the moment so I can’t really score it accurately, but I will update once the brand grows.

Sour Cherry10/10Great artificial cherry taste that is bursting with flavour. Each mouthful gives you a ‘buzz’ in your mouth, giving you the perception of instant energy (at least with me it does)
