Protein Prepped Pots by Muscle Food

I’ll be honest… My diet is absolutely shocking, in general… When i’m working, i just grab something quick, if i’m stressed, i consume more (especially sweets), and when I try and cut back and watch what I’m eating, I either take it too far and put myself off it, or I get caught up with the stresses of everyday life and end up binging again…

I have tried loads of meal replacements and prep meals in the past, but the ones that I’ve tried were either terrible tasting, cost too much, or just weren’t effective and made me eat more! Some examples of the things I have tried are Sneak Eats and Surreal Cereal, which you can click on their names to read more about my review of them.

Now, I’m trying Protein Prepped Pots by Muscle Food to see if they live up to the hype or if they are just another ‘meh’ product that is a waste of money.

For this review, I have 7 different flavours to try out (2 of them my wife will be tasting because they aren’t something that I would choose). The review will be 100% honest and as I say on all of my reviews… Taste is subjective. Just because I like something or don’t, doesn’t mean that your opinion doesn’t matter, it’s just how I felt!

What are Protein Prepped Pots?

In a nutshell, these are pre-made meals that you simply heat up in the microwave and eat. They take 6 minutes from frozen to be cooked, so it’s really convenient. They are also packed with protein (as the name suggests), but unlike other companies out there, they are not packed with loads of calories too, so they are great if you are building muscle, but also great if you are looking to eat healthy and lose weight.

How are they delivered?

I was actually really surprised by the premium level that the meals were delivered. My two main concerns were that the meals might end up all over the place, and I wasn’t quite sure if I liked the idea of the meals spending a load of time shipping without refrigeration…

My concerns could not have been put at ease any better than they were when I got these through. They were packed great, no bashing about or anything AND they had these ice bag things in the box, so literally all of the meals were still completely frozen when they arrived in the post! Nothing to worry about at all!

Review

Okay, let’s jump into the review on how they tasted (as that is the most important thing to me!)

FlavourRating↓Comment
Chicken Curry10/10Outstanding. I could eat this every day, for every meal if I could!
Tex Mex Chilli10/10This tasted exactly like the chilli that my wife makes (which is a big compliment!)
Thai Curry10/10This one was my wife’s taste results. She couldn’t believe how nice it was and said it was ‘banging’!
Chicken Ragu9/10Really flavourful and the pasts wasn’t soggy like I expected it to be
Sweet Chilli Chicken7/10This had really lovely flavours to it, but it was a little bit mushy for my liking
Stroganofftbctbc
Satay Chicken2/10This wasn’t really aligned to my pallet. Wasn’t disgusting by any means, but just wasn’t for me, and I wouldn’t get it again.

I highly recommend giving these a try folks. They are quite cheap (especially when you think how much it costs to make a meal yourself!), taste amazing and are actually really good for you!
