Hiltwood Natural Soap is a premium English brand, but there doesn’t seem to be very much on their website to tell us about their company or how they got started. I’ll update this if I find out more.
Straight away, though, I have a bone to pick with this company because they sneakily added me to a subscription version of the soap bar at a reduced rate. This happened when I clicked the add to basket button, but it updated mid-click, so I didn’t see the subscription was selected (it’s a standard bar first!). Thankfully, I noticed it, but if I wasn’t 100% aware of this, then you are not transparent enough to your customers!
For this review, I used the Lime & Charcoal scent.
| Smell: 6/10 | Was nothing very special about it to be honest. The scent wasn’t very strong and my wife never noticed a smell when I came out the bath, but was pleasant enough. |
| Feeling on my skin: 10/10 | Was really nice on my skin, didn’t tug or give me any dryness. |
| Price: 4/10 | This bar cost £9.46 (6.47 for the soap & £2.99 postage). I managed to get 9 washes out of this one (although the last wash was probably half what I usually would), so that works out at £1.05 per wash! |
| Range of scents: 5/10 | There were 6 scents available at the time of writing this review. |
| Marketing/Branding: 5/10 | I imagine that this brand is aimed at the premium market, as it has that feel about it. Very minimalistic. |
| Customer Service: 8/10 | Got a pretty quick reply from their team, but it was a bit of a robotic reply. |
| Weight Transparency: 4/10 | This bar is advertised as 100g, but when I weighed it, it was only 93g |
