Sorry that it’s taken a while to put this page together, folks. I know a lot of you who have gone on to buy powdered energy drinks based on my recommendations have been asking about the Hydration versions!
Well, first off, for those who don’t know, the products that I’m going to speak about in this article are powders that you add to water that are intended to keep you more hydrated, and some of them add extra bits like vitamins in them too.
Cutting through the BS of this market from the start, however (you know I like to be transparent!), the average person doesn’t need all this extra stuff to get hydrated. If you are a normal person who drinks water, squash, juice, fizzy drinks, or similar, you don’t NEED a hydration product. You won’t instantly feel like you are now hydrated. Your body tells you when you are dehydrated and you will feel horrible. If you feel tired, and you think it might be because you are dehydrated… Drink. If you are still tired, then it’s pretty much not dehydration!
With that being said, if a product can help you drink more because you don’t like normal water, or you want the added benefits of the extra vitamins, then go for it. It’s not going to hurt you. I am only stating the above because I don’t want you to be taken in by all the marketing BS that has been going on for decades about keeping yourself hydrated!
Just before we get started, I also just want to give my usual disclaimer that taste is subjective. So if you don’t agree with my taste buds, that’s completely fine. Everyone is different, but the other people reading this article might have similar taste buds to mine, and I want to help them too.
Overall Reviews
Vidrate

Vidrate is one of those brands that keeps cropping up all over social media and has glowing reviews all over the internet and the media (Newspapers, health magazines, etc). But are they actually decent, or have they basically just paid a premium to be recommended by these big brands? (I wouldn’t possibly comment on that, but you make your own mind up after reading the review)
If you want my honest answer to if they are worth it… no. The flavours are weak and watery (Even when you double up the dose). The intention of these powders is to get you to drink more, but in reality, I would drink a lot more if I just used squash than these, because squash tastes a lot better! I know it doesn’t have the added vitamins, but hydration is meant to the the goal here, so the taste matters

| Flavour | Score | Comments |
| Cherry | 4/10 | Smells awesome, but the taste is just what you imagine a vitamin water would taste like, strange taste to it (I’m a big cherry fan too!) |
| Orange & Peach | 6/10 | Tastes a bit stronger, but I prefer an orange & peach squash over this any day |
| Watermelon & Raspberry | 2/10 | I’m not a big watermelon fan, so this was never going to be a high score |
| Mixed Berry | 7/10 | Candy flavour to this one and it comes in a few different versions (including caffeine, magnesium and normal). |
| Pink Lemonade | 5/10 | Too weak, but bitter at the same time. Not very pleasant |
| Tropical | 7/10 | Decent flavours off of this one, too bad it’s weak. |
| Lemon, Lime and Mint | 0/10 | This one is basically mojito. I hate mojito, sorry! |
| Apple & Mango | 7/10 | Really refreshing taste off of this one. |

Wraith has been a company that I’ve been a massive advocate for when it comes to their energy powders. Their flavours are brilliant, it’s effective, it’s supporting a small company, and their branding is awesome.
